XCEL FARMS IS ECSTATIC TO ANNOUNCE THE NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH ED HARDY RACING!
Our mission to produce the top performing quarter horses of the future remains!
With the Ed Hardy Racing partnership, our commitment to training world champions is solidified!
A Bit About The Founder
As a child, Cole Morehead grew up watching his grandparents and parents raise and race horses together. Many hours were spent as a family riding horses, training horses, and watching their horses race. Cole's passion and love for horses is no accident and was definitely inherited.
In 2012, Cole and his wife Marijo started XCEL NDT, a non-destructive testing company, near their small home town of Clifton, KS. This business has taken Cole all over the world and taught the Morehead family many lessons on what it takes to be successful in the business world today. With these learned lessons and his passion for horses, Cole is confident that he can create an extremely successful business model that will not only benefit him and his clients, but also the horse industry in general.
Turning a Dream into a Reality
Cole's idea for XCEL Farms became reality when he and his father purchased their first racing bred quarter horse boodmare at Heritage Place Sale in Oklahoma City, OK. This outstanding bred mare produced Tres of Hero, by Tres Seis, who is the winner at two and already has a triple A speed index!
Just as this first broodmare's bloodlines were strategically picked, XCEL Farms will continue to hand pick and select top bloodlines to cross in the various performance quarter horse industries to create a legacy.
Ed Hardy Racing Partnership ...... Dream Team ...... You Decide
When Cole and his father went in search for a trainer, they had one goal in mind .... Find someone who will be honest with us! Ed Hardy and Wife Kari came highly recommended and upon the first time they met, Cole knew this was the type of people he wanted to work with. Ed and Kari made a single horse owner feel welcomed and truly appreciated their business. They also care for every horse as if they are their own!
Hardy's resume includes the training of two world champions. He trained One Rare Bug, winner of 2002 Canterbury Derby, and Lett Her Zoom. His first stakes win came in the 2002 Northland Futurity with Capones Vault, who truly distinguished himself by winning the Texas Classic Futurity that year at Lone Star Park, the first million dollar horse race in the state of Texas.
The future looks bright for this Dream Team Partnership!
